For me, it all started when I looked through my stash of fabrics. It's not huge, but there are some lovely fabrics in there. I found a Layer cake of Rouenneries by French General for Moda. This bundle is a few years old now and pretty hard to get hold of, if you're after some extra fabric pieces.
First problem: A pattern to complement the fabric. Solution: I was totally inspired by Blue.Ridge.Girl. I decided that the Swoon was for me too. I think it's the best pattern to show off the Rouenneries fabric.
Next problem: I've only got a Layer cake of fabric. Solution: The mini Swoon! I hope to be able to add to the mini Swoon pattern to make a bigger quilt, but that's going to depend on how far my Layer cake goes and if I can source any more fabric. I really want to complete a quilt without having to purchase more fabric though. That said, of course I'm going to need more fabric - how will I complete the sashing and corner posts?
